At the Rietveld, we had an assignment to design a wine bottle opener, where we focused on sketching, exploring mechanics, and experimenting with different moving parts. It involved a lot of remodeling, drawing, and making. I wanted to incorporate a mechanical aspect, drawing references to oil drills and making a comparison between wine and oil. I really enjoyed this complex problem-solving task, and I also appreciated the aesthetic and movement qualities that came with the final product.
